I’ll be speaking about: designing across cultures: inclusion starts with the team.
Inclusion is often discussed from the perspective of the people using our products. But it starts much earlier, inside the teams that build them. Working across cultures, languages, communication styles and implicit assumptions has deeply shaped how I think about product design. What feels obvious to one person may not be obvious to another. The way we approach clarity, conflict, hierarchy, consensus and decision making is not universal, and all of that eventually shows up in the products we build.
In this talk, I’ll share my reflections on how team dynamics and cultural norms influence design decisions, and why more inclusive products often begin long before the interface.
